Community Life

God always has a plan… looking back I can see how I became coordinator of the Community Life Group within the new initiative, “Growing Into Christ”. Yes, it all makes sense; first I joined the Hospitality ministry. Only to later become the coordinator, along with my husband, Bill. My first meeting at the Saint Claire Women’s Guild was to ask for volunteers with the Hospitality ministry.

Now, I’m the President of the Women’s Guild! It’s not that I can’t say no, but more that I love involving and inspiring people within our church to become part of our community.

Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and do good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

For me it’s not good enough to be a member who is idle, my satisfaction comes from committing my heart and soul. I love seeing the smiles, warm hellos, and fellowship every week.

1 Thess 5:14 We urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, cheer the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient with all. See that no one returns evil for evil: rather, always seek what is good for each other and for all. Rejoice always.

The Growing Into Christ Project, I believe, is to help our church community grow in many aspects. The Community Life Group’s objective is to have a substantial increase in the commitment and participation of faith filled community as a whole by becoming more inviting, friendly, and inspiring. I truly hope that you will find the encouragement and inspiration to join the Community Life group, as we grow in Christ together as a community, in the years to come.

Our group has been brain storming to come up with ideas to help our church become more involved as a whole. If you have any suggestions, please introduce yourself, and I welcome all your great ideas.

God Bless,

Laurie Jarema, Founding Chair
