Baptism

BAPTISM

The Church believes and teaches that Baptism makes us members of the Body of Christ, and we are members one of another. The Sacrament of Baptism “incorporates us into the Church. From the baptismal fonts is born the one People of God of the New Covenant, which transcends all the natural or human limits of nations, cultures, races, and sexes: For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body" (CCC# 1267).

For Catholics, Baptism is the beginning of new life into Christ, and it is the sacrament of salvation and the door to all other sacraments.

Parents must attend one mandatory Baptism preparation class.  Classes will be on the 1st Monday of the month at 7PM in Parish Center unless that day falls on a holiday.  Current scheduled classes for 2024 are: May 6 (in SH1), June 3, July 1, August 5,  and September 9.  Meetings will move in October to the second Tuesday of the month at 7pm in the Parish Center:  October 8, November 12, and December 10.  Parents must be registered and active members of a parish. Baptisms will be held on Saturdays before 2:30PM and Sundays at 12PM. Check current bulletin for any time/location changes.
