Among the five commissions involved in Our Lady of the Angels’ collaborative efforts to light a new fire among parishioners for serving as selfless and loving disciples of Jesus is the commission on Liturgy and Worship. We are a group with members who are lectors, Eucharistic ministers, hospitality ministers, sacristans, musicians, and other parishioners who are working together in the Spirit in the essential work of liturgy and worship.

Our general aim is to encourage and enable an environment of worship, the source and summit of our lives in Christ Jesus, which is holy, communal, proper, engaging, invitational, inspirational, joyous, welcoming, and educational.

As we begin our parish collaborative efforts, we ask for your prayers that we may be prompted by the Holy Spirit, and that we listen to the Holy Spirit and to each other as members of the Body of Christ. Eventually, we hope to engage many more parishioners in our work. We are honored and excited to be selected for this very holy work.

The Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy (Sacrosanctum Concilium, 2nd Vatican Council, 1963) inspires when it reminds us as we begin our work that every liturgical celebration, because it is an action of Christ the Priest and of his Body which is the Church, is a sacred action surpassing all others; no other action of the Church can equal its effectiveness. We pray that we may up to this task.
